May in Calligraphy

May is the shortest month (in terms of number of letters), but there’s still tons of room to add style when writing it.

We’ve written May in calligraphy in 8 styles with exemplars that will give you ideas.

Plus, follow along with our video tutorial where we teach you letter-by-letter how to write each style for yourself!

May Lettering Prompts

Use our daily lettering prompts to practice your letters and build a fun, relaxing calligraphy habit.

You can practice these on your own, or post in the Daily Prompts space if you're in our membership. We love to see the variety of styles and tools, from faux calligraphy, to pointed pen and iPad lettering.

FREE WORKSHOP: Intro to Calligraphy Tools

Join us on Wednesday, May 6 for a free live workshop where we'll be comparing a brush pen, pointed pen, and iPad for calligraphy.

If you’ve been wanting to start calligraphy but you're not sure which pen to use, make sure to join us!

Calligraphy Together is our online membership community where you can learn and practice calligraphy with monthly practice workbooks, courses, live calls, guided quests, daily prompts, and a supportive community.

We are so proud of everyone's hard work all month, and we're very excited for the Composition Quest that starts today! Can't wait to see what you all create.

If you're not a member yet and would love to be part of the group, learn more at calligraphytogether.com

Looking forward to our next members-only Zoom call on May 11.

New Workbook πŸ’Œ

We had so much fun creating a new workbook in April! One of the most popular ways to use calligraphy is for Greeting Cards, so that was the inspiration for the new workbook.

The printable PDF includes traceable phrases in both modern calligraphy and flourished Copperplate:

πŸ’Œ Thank You
πŸ’Œ Congratulations
πŸ’Œ Happy Birthday
πŸ’Œ Happy Anniversary
πŸ’Œ Get Well Soon
πŸ’Œ Thinking of You
πŸ’Œ With Sincere Sympathy
πŸ’Œ A little note of Encouragement
πŸ’Œ On Your Wedding Day
πŸ’Œ Best of Luck
πŸ’Œ Happy Retirement
✨ Plus: Exemplars for Modern and Traditional Alphabets
✨ Plus: Tips and a tutorial for transferring the designs into store-bought or DIY cards

We challenge you to make a card for someone in your life this week. It doesn’t need to be perfect! Whether it’s a card your make from scratch, or a store-bought one that you elevate with your own lettering, it’s all about making someone else feel special.
